Ballpoint's Expulsion!
In the context of the 2025 graphic novel series Transformers: Worst Bot Ever, Ballpoint would almost certainly be kicked out of the Predacons. His established character arc centers on him being expelled from the Decepticons because he is a "failure" who is neither competent nor evil enough for their ranks.
Why He Would Be Kicked Out
If Ballpoint were a Predacon with a "quokka mode" smile that Megatron deemed unworthy:
- Precedent for Expulsion: In his debut story, Meet Ballpoint!, he is permanently kicked out of the Decepticons after a botched attempt to defeat the Autobots. A Predacon version of Ballpoint would likely face the same fate for failing to meet the faction's standards of ferocity and ruthlessness.
- "Not Evil Enough" Counterpart: Much like Skyfire (Jetfire) in G1 lore—who left the Decepticons because he valued science and peace over their cruelty—Ballpoint is fundamentally "too much of a BotBot" (too friendly/inept) to fit in with a faction focused on conquest.
- The "Worst Bot" Title: He is canonically defined as the "biggest failure of them all". In a group like the Predacons, where strength and animalistic dominance are prized, his "cute" quokka smile would likely be seen as a sign of weakness, leading to his immediate exile. He thus joined the Maximals.
Character Context
- Faction Transition: After being kicked out of the Decepticons, Ballpoint eventually becomes an Autobot.
- Physical Traits: Originally a pen-sized robot, he is characterized by his "narcissism" and delusional belief that he is a master strategist and Megatron's best friend.
- Body Swapping: In the 2026 sequel Bot Swap!, Ballpoint even swaps bodies with Megatron, further highlighting the comedic contrast between his ineptitude and the leader's power.
